Bartholomew JoJo "Bart" Simpson (born February 23, 1979) is the middle child and youngest son of Homer and Marge Simpson, the younger brother of Flint, Tessa, Jassele and Dana Simpson and the older brother of Lizzy, Lisa and Maggie Simpson.
Bart is the spiky-haired, energetic middle child of the Simpson family. Renowned for his rebellious antics and knack for causing chaos, Bart’s personality is a blend of curiosity, mischief, and occasional charm. Despite his troublemaking tendencies, he has shown moments of bravery, creativity, and kindness.
Nicknamed “Cosmo” after discovering a comet, Bart has also been a feature in numerous comics like Critical Hit, Simpsons Treasure Trove #11, and Winter Wingding. His popularity even earned him his own 100-issue comic series, Simpson Comics Presents Bart Simpson. Matt Groening loosely based Bart’s character on himself and his older brother, Mark.
Accomplishments
Even at a young age, Bart has achieved a surprising amount for a kid his age. He won an award for his Angry Dad web series and discovered a comet that was named after him. He also performed in a successful band with Milhouse, Nelson, Martin and Ralph.
Personality
Bart Simpson is the mischievous, rebellious, and unpredictable son of Homer and Marge Simpson. Known for his iconic spiky hair and slingshot skills, Bart is the quintessential troublemaker at Springfield Elementary School. Despite his chaotic nature, Bart has a good heart and occasionally shows glimpses of maturity and intelligence. His love for pranks, skateboarding, and stirring up chaos is balanced by moments of surprising compassion.
Bart’s chaotic behavior often lands him in trouble, but his quick wit and cunning help him navigate sticky situations. He’s had many alter egos and nicknames over the years, including Bartman, El Barto, and the "I Didn't Do It" Boy.
Future
Age 12:
Sporting a mullet and feeling overshadowed by Lisa at his birthday, Bart runs off to break streetlamps with Milhouse. After Milhouse’s arrest, Bart hides at the retirement home where Grampa gives him a BMX bike, sparking a new passion.
Age 15:
Now a talented BMX stunt rider, Bart’s life is still riddled with reckless behavior. After a failed stunt during a competition, Lisa rescues him, making him reflect on his impulsive lifestyle.
Age 18:
As a senior at Springfield High School, Bart tries to pursue art but struggles with finding his purpose. His relationship with Jenda crumbles due to his lack of direction, and he briefly takes a job at the Kwik-E-Mart. After heroically stopping a robbery, Bart earns a Yale scholarship but gives it to Lisa to save her from a bleak future.
Age 20:
Taking his sister’s advice, Bart opens a bike customization shop. His creativity shines, especially in a large mural dedicated to Lisa.
Age 25:
Now a demolition worker and vehicle crusher, Bart is battling his own inner conflicts and plans to attend law school when he’s “done releasing all his aggression.” By this point, he’s been divorced twice but is notably more kind-hearted than his younger self.
Age 40:
Living as a struggling musician and a father of two boys, Picard and Kirk, Bart is divorced from Jenda, who has moved on with someone else. He spends Christmas teaching his kids valuable life lessons and occasionally helps Lisa with her political struggles. His new catchphrase: “You used to be cool, man.”
Age 41:
Working at Cretaceous Park, Bart struggles with loneliness and lingering feelings for Jenda. After undergoing a bizarre experience involving a brainwashing clinic, he decides to grow up. He becomes a DJ at KBXL, remarries Gina Vendetti, and gains custody of his boys, later expanding his family to include five more children: Corvus, Lydia, Hattie, Vincent and Cashel.
Age 50:
Bart achieves his goal of graduating law school and eventually becomes Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. In Marge’s imagination, he also ends up as a sleazy male stripper.
Age 70:
Bart retires to the Springfield Retirement Castle, where he spends his days with Milhouse.
Age 80:
Bart’s last prank goes tragically wrong when fireworks he launches with the message “Skinner Sucks” cause Principal Skinner to suffer a fatal heart attack, and Skinner’s collapsing body inadvertently kills Bart.
